Growing Talent Morley

As part of the Morley Town Deal initiative, Ahead Partnership has delivered an employer-led education programme called Growing Talent Morley to address skills gaps in the town through collaborative work between education and training providers and local employers.

Since its launch in 2022, Growing Talent Morley has worked with every primary and secondary school in the area along with a Further Education college to develop and deliver activities which harness the strength of the local employer base and provide employer-led skills development programmes to improve employability skills in the community.

Through activities such as careers panels, inspirational speakers, workshop masterclasses and employability events, the programme aims to increase the share of young people and adults with relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship and to take advantage of opportunities in Leeds and the wider city region.

So far, the programme has engaged over 8,000 young people and over 300 volunteers and gained national recognition at the Property Week ESG Edge Awards, winning the award for Excellence in Community Engagement – Partnerships in 2025.
